*To make the Native American Medicine Wheel Garden, Taffy has used plants native to the northwest, arranged around a centered peace pole. The wheel is set up with four quadrants that represent the seasons and life cycles from birth through death. In the design of the wheel, she tried to follow the traditional Native American medicine wheel. Plants traditional to medicine wheel gardens represent include Camas, which is highly valued by Native Americans for food and medicine. “This was a long time dream to put this together. We have been acquiring plants native to our area and they are not easy to find. They are easier to grow because this is their natural habitat,” says Taffy.  Visits are invited to bring a small prayer stone or feather they can add to the cairn under the peace pole.
