Apple Pollination

Many people ask about pollination and if we rely on wild bees?

In April of every year we hire local bees from a beekeeper.  The bees do not make apple honey.  It is too cold, so the bees eat any honey they make.  They also have to be fed extra honey to keep up their strength for pollination.

It is very important to have a lot of wild flowers in the area, as well as the apple blossoms.  Dandelions are an important flower to the honey bees.
